The most important recognition received by the Farm is undoubtedly when Veronelli mentioned our wines in the “Sole Labels Category” in the “Veronelli “Guida Oro i Vini” twice, both in 2003 for the Passito di Pòllera 1997 vintage and in 2006 for the Pòllera Rosso IGT Val di Magra 2002 vintage. As a demonstration of his great appreciation, Luigi Veronelli knelt down, for the first and only time in his life, in front of a glass of the Passito di Pòllera 1997 vintage, which he tasted by chance at “Bancarelvino” in 2002. Veronelli himself wrote an article in his “Agrodolce column” on the “Corriere della Sera” newspaper, on the 22nd of September 2002 entitled “Quel Passito di Pòllera”:(That Pollera Passito) “I walked around proceeding with my tastings in a “pilgrim madonna” fashion and I understood the affection that the farmers show me”. Triumph of the native vines. In the years to come, we will be producing important bottles of notable excellence produced from the following heritage grape varieties: pòllera, durella, bracciaola, salvatichella, merlarola, moron, crova to name but a few. “At the Francesco Ruschi Noceti Farm’s stand, from Pontremoli, I knelt – as if I were Prince Andrej Tchelistcheff – in front of a glass of the 1997 Passito di Pòllera vintage. An aristocratic creature that combines in itself the spirit of the places, the nobility of history and the commitment of the winemaker. ” The “Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli is the first guide comprising Italian wines and is “heir” to the historical catalogs that have been published since 1961. The Guide closely follows the evolution of Italian wines, describes every year about 2,000 producers and annually awards “Suns” and “Stars” grades to the best Italian wine. The Sole Prize is awarded by the editorial staff to a limited selection of wines, chosen amongst thousands of samples tasted throughout the year and across the country, whose originality and value are to be noted.
